High cube containers give you approximately one extra foot of internal height compared to a standard shipping container - standing at 9ft 6in (2.89m) externally. This additional headroom makes them ideal for storing tall items, improving airflow around cargo, or accommodating temperature-control systems. Available in 20ft and 40ft sizes, Willbox high cube shipping containers are available for hire or purchase from 20+ UK depots.
High cube containers are built to the same ISO footprint as standard shipping containers - available in 20ft and 40ft - but with an internal height of approximately 2.70m (8ft 10in), compared to around 2.39m in a standard unit. This makes them particularly well suited for cargo or stored goods that require more vertical clearance.
The added height also improves airflow within the container, which is beneficial for perishable goods or temperature-sensitive products. High cube containers can be fitted with cooling or temperature-control systems, and lashing rings rated to 1,000 kg are installed along the upper longitudinal sections for securing hanging garment equipment or tall loads. A steel floor is available on request.
High cube containers are used across a wide range of industries including construction, manufacturing, retail, healthcare, self-storage, agriculture, education, sports, oil and gas, and offshore. They are equally suited to conversion projects where additional internal headroom is a key requirement.
