Willbox’s Head Office and workshop facilities in Nursling have undergone a transformation over the last few months, as the company invests in its site to give a better customer experience and improve the spaces used for converting containers.
New concrete yard
The extensive 4 acre site north of Southampton has suffered in the past from a lack of drainage, but now customers can expect a firm and dry footing when they visit to see our container stocks or come to discuss conversion or repairs.
Willbox has invested in a new drainage system, topped off with a fresh 65m x 45m concrete pad that should make a big difference to the look and feel of the site. This was a significant project, requiring clearance and digging up of the site before the installation of drains and the concrete pad, and taking over six weeks to complete.
“We would like to thank our colleagues and customers for putting up with the disruption caused by this work,” says Chris Williams, Managing Director of Willbox. “Now we have a clean and dry site which gives a better experience for everyone and is more in keeping with our professional approach to business.”
New state-of-the-art workshop
Willbox has also seized this opportunity to upgrade one of the two workshops on site. The new 55ft x 40ft workshop houses equipment including new MIG and TIG welders, a new plasma cutter, new air sprayer and improved extraction; whilst providing enhanced storage and tracking of stock.
The company has also invested in a bespoke cover to provide external shelter around the workshop. Made and installed by Zapp Shelter, the structure allows the team more flexibility in and around the workshop space, so that more jobs can be undertaken more quickly.
Investing in the future
Willbox has continued to grow despite the impacts of the pandemic, and the company has robust plans for the future. “We are proud to be investing in our structures and our people, and we look forward to a very positive future,” Chris confirms. The company has seen growth of 14% over the past 18 months, continues to expand its business across the UK.
