Is your shipping container showing signs of wear and tear? Is it leaking, perhaps? Are the cargo doors not operating as they should?
Shipping containers are a major investment whether you’re a business or have them for personal use. However, if timely maintenance and repairs are not done, they can be very costly to replace.
Apart from standard shipping containers, we are fixing site accommodation units as well. If your units start showing signs of damage, it may set you back on your revenue stream in more ways than one. Here’s what you can do to ensure that your shipping container or site accommodation units continue to perform as they should:
A shipping container can be a great addition to your construction site, self-storage site or farm. Shipping maintenance and repair needs to be a high priority on your list of things to-do because the right level of care and attention can go a long way to ensure that your containers always perform as intended. To start out, you need to know two very important things to ensure your container performs optimally: perfect positioning and proper, regular cleaning.
Maintenance on a shipping container or site accommodation unit is often easier than you think, especially if it’s installed properly. Positioning is, therefore, key. For example, your container needs to be on level ground, and if the ground is not level, you may want to raise it slightly on concrete blocks so that water does not pool in or the doors don’t give you trouble due to not lining up properly with the frame.
Keeping it clean will indefinitely make it last longer. Just find some mild bleach and a hose, and that should do. You can slow down the corrosion on the metal shell with some elbow grease. Greasing the doors regularly is also a good idea. Keep both the interior and exterior of your container as clean as possible.
